A long while ago, I had purchased a 50mm lens for the Nikon D5300 to attempt to do some Milky Way shots. I’ve finally got around to trying it on the EQM-35 mount in star tracker configuration. I was able to polar align decently using the built in polar scope. I tried the lens at f/2.8, but that might have been a bit much, as there are horrible aberrations around the periphery of the image. I also think that there is tilt in the sensor, as I get worse aberrations on the right hand side, as I did on with the camera on the telescope. I’ll have to look into fixing that.
This is only about 2.3 hours on the Cygnus region.
